As you all know I am a huge Kat Von D fan, but decided to try out Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks because I have heard so many great things about them. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks will always be my number! I stopped by Sephora one day on my lunch break to browse not buy anything, but as always that failed. I had no idea that Sephora started carrying Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks so once I saw them I had to pick them up. They had American Doll, Carina, Party Pink, Pure Hollywood, Vintage and Potion. Although I wanted Pure Hollywood, it was sold out and I already had a color similar to Party Pink in my collection, so I walked out of there with Potion, American Doll, Carina, and Vintage. I love every color I tried and it is important to exfoliate your lips before application. I usually use either Bite Beauty Fruit Scrub in Whipped Cherry or Hanaeli Sugar Lip Polish followed by Bite Beauty Agate Lip Mask, which helps make my lips smooth and liquid lipstick application ready! Since these are liquid lipsticks, they all dry into a matte finish and I was able to get a full day of wear with minor touch ups.
Potion can be described as a “deep aubergine” and unlike any other shade in my collection. I think it is universally flattering and is great from a night out on the town. I actually wear it both day and night because I love dark, bold lippies. For me, it applied streaky and uneven, taking a 2-3 layers to reach desired look.
American Doll is described as a “classic retro red” that I absolutely adore. I have several reds in my collection ranging from creme to matte, but a girl can never have too many reds right?
Carina is described as an “intense watermelon” and is very pretty against my skin tone. It’s a cute shade perfect for spring!
Vintage is described as a “deep orchid” and actually reminds me a little of Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in L.U.V. I am in love in purples and this one did not disappoint.
Overall I really like these liquid lipsticks, but they aren’t completely transfer-free. That’s probably my only con with these. Lasting power is good, I did need to touch up throughout the day, but that was mostly due to me eating oily foods. The color started to fade near the center of my lips, which pretty much happens with every type of lipstick I wear! In the end I decided not to get Pure Hollywood all together, which was also sold out online on Sephora, and, instead, ordered the shade Catnip, which I can’t wait to be delivered. Yes, you will be seeing a post about it shortly after I receive it! These retail for $20, .11oz tube and are available at Sephora, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Macy’s.
